Pete Buttigieg: ‘My Family Exists by the Grace of a Single Vote in the Supreme Court’

Out Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg told reporters at Essence Fest Sunday that his family’s existence hangs on the vote of one Supreme Court Justice and following the repeal of Roe V Wade marriage equality is next.

Buttigieg:

Look if there’s one thing we’ve learned with this supreme court it is that no rights or freedoms are safe. Even rights and freedoms that Americans have counted on for half a century, a woman’s right to choose, that right was just taken away. I don’t think for a second that they’re going to stop there. My family exists by the grace of a single vote in the Supreme Court. It’s troubling to think what they might do next.
