Donald Trump Says Blame Buttigieg for Train Wreck on Last Night’s ‘SNL’

Share

Saturday Night Live skewered former President Donald Trump’s recent press conference in East Palestine, Ohio last week (“Not a great name,” said James Austin Johnson of the town).

Johnson’s parody of Trump was even more funny because he didn’t change much of Trump’s actual address to the city’s residents impacted by the chemical spill following a train derailment recently.

“I’ve been looking at your river, and it’s so shiny. I’ve never seen water more beautiful — beautiful rainbows and discoloration. It’s great. It’s wearing makeup, like Fenty beauty water.”

Impersonating the president, Johnson directs blame at the man he identifies as the one true culprit: “Who do we blame? We blame Pete Buttigieg,” Johnson asserts, alluding to a congressional committee’s ongoing investigation of Buttigieg’s response to the train derailment. “This was his responsibility. Unfortunately, he was too busy being a nerd and being gay.”
