A leading platform for fandoms and online communities has revealed that The Office (US) is the best TV series to work out to, based on a study of 100 participants. Using the findings, it also unveiled a list of the top 10 TV shows that are proven to be the best shows to watch for a successful workout. The study monitored participants’ heart rates as well as feedback on how ‘hard’ they thought their workout was. Nine in ten (91%) people agreed that they forgot they were exercising whilst watching The Office (US), despite almost two thirds (64%) having higher heart rates recorded. The study also discovered that reality TV shows were the most popular TV genre amongst gym goers, making up almost half of the top 10 list.

The platform, FandomSpot.com, conducted a study of 100 participants to discover what TV shows are the best to watch whilst working out following its earlier survey that found that 57% of people have watched TV or movies at the gym, with nearly all of those (97%) stating it’s to distract themselves from the exercise itself.

Nine in 10 (91%) people agreed that they forgot they were exercising while watching The Office (US), despite almost two thirds (64%) having higher heart rates recorded.

The study participants were from a range of demographics and monitored the gym goers’ top heart rates while working out, while asking them to provide feedback on how ‘hard’ they thought their workout was, while watching the pre-selected list of TV shows.
