Zachary Levi Hopes Fans Loved Him as Shazam on IG Live

Zachary Levi who plays Billy Batson aka Shazam in the upcoming Shazam: Fury of the Gods took to Instagram Live to address recasting rumors and the future of the franchise following shake ups at DC Studios following James Gunn’s new plan for the DC Cinematic Universe.
Levi, responding to fans’ concerns that he was being ousted as the character tweeted (next to a smiling face with sunglasses emoji):
“Oooh, I really wouldn’t go believing everything you see on the internet. I’m Gucci, Ash. We all Gucci.”

Later on Instagram Live, Levi said that he although anything can happen, he thought that he and the cast were in a good place and he just hoped fans loved his interpretation of the character. He went to great lengths to defend Gunn and referred to the “incredible” world building he’d done with both DC’s Suicide Squad and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and expressed his trust.
