World’s Largest LGBT NFT Collection Launches for Pride with $1 Million Donation

The inaugural mint includes 100 “Icons”; artistic interpretations of famous LGBTQ+ celebrities, leaders and advocates. Pride Icons worked closely with talent such as Luke Evans, Perez Hilton, CT Hedden, and others to design original artistic interpretations of each individual.
Upon launch, Pride Icons pledges to donate $1 Million in proceeds to queer and trans organizations such as GLAAD, The Trevor Project, GLSEN and HMI, among others. Each of the notables involved selected the organization they would like the proceeds of their NFT to go to.

Pride Icons is the first ever art collection of its scale made by an LGBTQ+ artist, for the LGBTQ+ community. It was co-founded by serial entrepreneur and Forbes 30 under 30 alum Regev Gur, Google engineering alum, Amir Lazarovich, and LGBTQ+ advocate Eliad Cohen, and designed by digital artist Max Bahman.
“Cryptocurrency and NFTs appeal to the LGBTQ+ community as traditional financial institutions have a history of taking advantage of the community,” said Regev Gur, Co-Founder and CEO. “We founded Pride Icons to empower and support the queer and trans community. Pride Icons’ prized pieces offer more value than a mere possession. They grant access to the company’s members-only club where each level of NFT ownership unlocks certain perks; including exclusive parties around the world, discounts in queer and trans focused healthcare, discounts at Gymage fitness club and more.
“Harris Poll found that among the LGBTQ+ community, 25% own cryptocurrencies, compared with 13% of the general US public,” said Eliad Cohen, Co-Founder of Pride Icons and LGBTQ+ advocate. “The LGBTQ+ community has been featured in NFT collections but Pride Icons is the first time we are able to fully claim ownership and empower the community to become more involved in NFTs and web3 initiatives.”

Pieces are available for purchase on Pride Icons and for secondary sale on trusted NFT marketplace, OpenSea. Pride Icons NFTs will be sold at 3 tiers of utility: Plus, Prime and Prestige. The auction will begin June 1 with 3-4 prestige level icons released every day for a total of 100 icons over the course of Pride Month.
