How Chris Stanley Has Become the New Face of Entertainment

He’s been dubbed as Gen Z’s “Billy Eichner” for his viral on the street interview content, gay TikTok content creator Chris Stanley aka “StanChris” has made a name for himself with his original videos, even catching the eye of Madonna herself.

But where Eichner is shrill and failed to deliver the comedy goods in his failed feature rom com Bros, Stanley gives genuine bro vibes.

For real.

His videos are diverse, funny, and smart. Spanning a wide variety of topics they vary from meaningful queer friendly videos to fun off the cuff questions with unsuspecting participants, In a few short years Stanley has amassed well over 1.3 million followers across all platforms with 300+ million views. Gaynrd spoke to the 23-year-old about his impact a generation kids who look up to him, his career overall and where he sees himself in the future.

Stanley says he draws  inspiration from his personal experiences growing up a student athlete in suburban New Hampshire mixed in with his own humor, Many of his video have gone viral for his interviews with everyday citizens in various locations around the US as well as internationally, including, notably the aforementioned video that caught the eye of Madonna who ended up adding his content to her IG story.

Stanley is working towards a goal of hosting his own televised and/or streamed series, He’s smart and knowledgeable about a wide range of topics which is evident in his content including pop culture references, celebrity trivia, preferences within the LGBT community, fashion, and more.  Ultimately through his social media content, Stanley hopes to bring not only the LGBT  community together, but also educate and inform those who are not a part of the community.

Some of his most popular content include travel vlogs and reels about him and his best friend who happen to be straight.

Growing up in New Hampshire, Stanley came out when he was a sophomore in high school to his friends and family. His family showed full support, but what was shocking to him was that his high school friends did not take the news as well. Chris also began longboarding in high school and would eventually lead him to entering longboard dance competitions.

After graduating high school. Stanley wasn’t sure of where he saw himself going professionally and decided to take a gap year. During that time, Covid-19 forever changed the planet and he decided to focus on his social media content. Posting every single week for three consecutive years, he began to slowly grow his audience and transform his content into what it is known for today.

Along with his popular content, Stanley has been very vocal about his two-year relationship with his current boyfriend and CBS’ Survivor contestant Bret LaBelle who famously came out during the taping of the reality show.

In an interview with GAYETY.COM, Stanley discussed how they met, the dynamics of their relationship that comes with a 27 year age gap, and how the internet has their own opinions on their relationship. Stanley has says, “By showing our relationship I hope to show that love comes in all shapes and forms in the LGBTQ+ community…Love is love, and all that really matters between two adults is if you make each other happy.”

Stanley has been happily dating Bret LaBelle for two years. LaBelle is a Boston police officer and a reality competition star. LaBelle came out as part of the LGBTQIA+ community while speaking with another out Survivor contestant, Zeke Smith, on season 33 of the show. “I had an internal struggle with myself with coming out and being gay for years,” LaBelle told Entertainment Weekly. “When I mentioned it on the show, it was like a huge weight off my shoulders, and I found that it really helped me in my personal life going forward. The support I received from family, friends, and co-workers was amazing. I wish I had come out sooner.”

Stanley adds that although coming out wasn’t the greatest experience he eventually made peace with it and with his his classmates.

As he looks to the future he says he would ideally love to do entertainment reporting, and it would be a dream to report directly from the red carpet.

Stanley’s dream interviews? He thinks for a moment, then he responds, “Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, and Noah Schnapp.”
