For Ford, expressing queer love through his work involves “celebrating and normalizing the image of gay love and intimacy as more of a public sphere.’”

Ford says he  believes “queer love shouldn’t only exist in the narrow scope of porn. I’ve been trying to push it onto others, working with fashion designers who also appreciate sexuality and don’t try to hide from it. I think, in that regard, pushing the idea and image of gay love and intimacy as more of a public sphere and not so much as the disposable thing that porn tends to construe it as.”

“I’ve been trying to push it onto others, working with fashion designers who also appreciate sexuality and don’t try to hide from it. I think, in that regard, pushing the idea and image of gay love and intimacy as more of a public sphere and not so much as the disposable thing that porn tends to construe it as. … Violence has become so much more normalized than eroticism. I think it’s for actually quite an intentional, sinister reason. It’s because violence tends to push people apart for the benefit of the powerful. Love, radical love, tends to bring people together and can affect real change. I think the promotion and normalization of violence over love and eroticism has been an intentional move by the powerful to sort of drive us away from each other.”

On the subject of the F-Word interviewer,  elucidates the evolution of the word queer from one of derision in the past to one that is a stand in for the broader LGBT spectrum and notes that he sees Ford’s generation doing the same with the word faggot. “I see all these [young] people saying “faggot.” I love that kind of thing—“the faggotry.”

Ford agrees, “I feel like we’ve reclaimed that word, faggot. It feels really good to say.”

“I wanted to be a rock star. I still want to be a rock star.”

Lady Gunn:

The Rise Of Sean Ford Can Be Interpreted Both Figurately And Literally Speaking. Hailing From Little Rock, Arkansas, He’s Every Bit As Sun-Kissed And Hard-Bodied As A Fantasy Can Take. He’s Got A Mysterious Boyish Charm To Him That Takes The Best Parts Of Middle America And Holds It Up To A Magnifying Glass Exposing More Than Just His Subtle Features And Tight Little Butt. Sean Ford Is The Lip Bite And Wink From The Sexy Guy Across The Bar. You Do A Double-Take And Then He Is Gone, While You Are Left Thinking About Those 2 Seconds For The Rest Of Your Life.

Fashion and sex are like kissing cousins. Both industries tiptoe on the lines escaping mundane existence. The extravagant opulence that tugs on the entrails of the sensitive parts, the parts that get you excited and wanting more. Sean has been able to navigate both worlds becoming a muse in the process. As a studio player at CockyBoys, he brings an art-house noir sex-positive approach to the genre of porn.

Ford started in showbiz on a dare.

He moved from Arkansas to Los Angeles with nothing but a 2006 Honda Accord. ” I like keeping to myself so a lot of this doesn’t come naturally, but it’s forced me to learn and grow. I’m grateful for it.” Sean says of the adventure.

DAZED:

If you haven’t heard of Sean Ford, you’ve might still have seen him. Most likely, naked. He’s the new gay porn star on the block, who treats his work like art. You can see it in his movies – from starring roles in award winning Jake Jaxson features for Cockyboys (ALL SAINTSLove, Lost and Found, and Le Garçon Scandaleux), to his role in the romantic gay sex-fest FLOWER. Naturally, he’s become a kind of queer fashion muse too, working with Palomo Spain and starring in the Matt Lambert-lensed short film for Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s sex toy release.

“I’m inspired by artists of both the past and present who are open and vulnerable when it comes to their sexuality and displaying it for the world to see,” Ford says. “I feel like living up to the legacy they have handed down to us is part of what drives me.”

Having won Best Newcomer at the Str8UpGayPorn Awards in 2017, Ford also wants to act, and to pursue music; but in the meantime, he’s happy to keep learning. “I’m most proud of the way I’ve been able to do what I do without letting it consume me or go to my head, and the way I’ve been able to establish really great relationships with people and artists that I admire,” he says.

Gayletter:

“Entering porn is entering politics.”

While that may sound unbelievable to some, Sean’s idea captures the progress made by our LGBT forebears. Without their fighting at the Supreme Court and rallying year after year on the streets all across the country, Sean probably would have grown up in fear like so many other queer youth who are still afraid, ostracized, lonely and uncertain in regards to their inherent sexuality.

Ford says, “Being proud doesn’t come easy to everyone, but the statements written on caps and t-shirts encourage us to remember those who we are fighting for this month: our trans, bi, two-spirited siblings, the queer youth and each other.”

“We are here and we are queer. Be proud for one another.”

’nuff said.
