Clocking in at $557.19 million, Spider-Man: Now Way Home is now the 11th highest-grossing film ever at the domestic box office, adjusted for inflation.
The movie which stars all three actors who have played the web slinger in the 21st Century: Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland is also being bandied for Best Picture for 2022’s Academy Awards ceremony aka the Oscars.
It is also the third-highest 14 day gross of all-time, after Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
At some point this weekend, it will pass the $600 million mark. Its first real test won’t come for another two weeks when the latest entry in the Scream franchise opens, so $700-750 million is not out of the realm of possibility yet.
Former SONY head honcho Amy Pascal confirmed Holland will return for a fourth installment and there is indeed a subsequent trilogy planned.
As far as rumors of Andrew Garfield returning to finish the story began in The Amazing Spider-Man, there has been no confirmation.
