One of California’s Coolest Hotels, Queer Owned Hicksville Trailer Palace

Share

If you’ve been paying attention to the Depp/Heard defamation trial, then you’re aware that the former owner of Hicksville Trailer Palace in Joshua Tree, CA was on the stand today to discuss an incident that allegedly happened when the couple stayed at the property.

What is the Hicksville Trailer Palace? One of the coolest hotels in California, this quirky and unique retro trailer property, currently owned by queer, PoC couple Erica Beers and Rebecca Slivka, has been a vacation spot for many celebs in the past, as well as the location for music videos, films and more. Most recently, songstress Lana Del Rey chose the brightly-colored location to film her music video, “White Dress.

Located in Joshua Tree, CA, the 21+ dog friendly location features 11 individually designed vintage trailers with names such as The Sideshow, The Peewee, and the two which were featured heavily in the Del Rey video, The Skipper and The New World. [PHOTOS]

This amazing hotel is a truly unique experience for adults (and their beloved fur kids!) that’s got fun, themed stays and a range of games and amenities, including a ball pit, a game room (newly renovated), a BB gun/archery range and more – all outside on 7 gorgeous acres and Covid-safe.

We’re off the beaten path.

Hicksville Trailer Palace is a one-of-a-kind desert getaway for adults over 21 that’s chock-full of memorable experiences. We offer fun, themed stays in quirky, specially-designed digs. And with Hicksville’s eclectic range of games and amenities, our visitors won’t want to leave!

When it comes to guests, our trailer is your trailer.

Regardless of race, religion, sexual preference, world viewpoints, or beliefs, every guest is welcome at Hicksville — even dogs. We recommend booking your stay in advance as our trailers get booked up quickly. Then, once these desert travelers check in to Hicksville, they’ve got all kinds of ways to socialize on the grounds — from lounging around the saltwater pool to sharing beers over mini golf.

Hicksville gives guests a stay like no other, plus sells offbeat merch they can bring home. Our guests feel rejuvenated when they leave and often booked another stay soon after! Some even plan annual Hicksville reunions. Thanks to word of mouth, many of our guests’ friends end up visiting Hicksville, as well.

Our team is everything

When it comes to the crew who makes it all happen, our Hicksville team is solid gold — a good-natured, caring bunch of people. We’ve got each other’s backs. We feel appreciated. And we truly love our jobs. We’re proud to work at Hicksville.

Because we want our guests to have the best possible stay at Hicksville, we keep an upbeat outlook — and we go out of our way to be helpful. And we know about all the cool things to do in the area so we can make spot-on recommendations.

We each bring something to the [formica] table.

Our team is a lot like our guests. We’re diverse. We’re open and accepting of all people. We don’t judge. We enjoy traveling, exploring, and learning new things. And we love dogs! (Many of us have our own fur kids.)

While Hicksville is a fun place to work, we take our jobs seriously. We’re responsible, punctual, and make smart, informed decisions. We care about keeping the property clean for our guests. And we treat it with love and respect. We feel a sense of purpose and work towards always improving guests’ experiences. Although our team is lean, each of us makes a difference — and together, we work like a well-oiled machine.

Basically, we understand the Hicksville brand and expectations and enjoy making it the weird, wonderful desert dwelling place that it is.

We love making Hicksville even more over-the-top.

So where do Erica and Rebecca come in? While we are not involved in the day-to-day of Hicksville, we do get to use our talents to help make Hicksville even more extraordinary.

Erica comes up with eye-catching designs for the trailers/other innovative lodging, plus fun property features. (Hicksville guests love ‘em!) She draws her inspiration from the amazing places we’ve been, then translates these fabulous elements into new ideas for Hicksville.

Meanwhile, Rebecca enjoys scouting cities and remote areas to figure out what new places would make great spots for other Hicksvilles.

Lastly, we’re happy to be a rare desert gem.

With our carefully crafted trailers, cabin, train car — even a charming houseboat — Hicksville has something for everyone. Each space is well thought-out, down to the last kitschy detail. We attract people who appreciate our creative structures and design, our many games and amenities, and the chance to befriend fellow travelers.

And that’s what makes Hicksville Trailer Palace the desert retreat that inspires.
