Share

Warner Bros. dropped a fresh Black Adam trailer that establishes the movie takes place in the existing DC cinematic universe established by Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad, The Suicide Squad, and Justice League.

Not the Snyder Cut.

The presence of actress Viola Davis as Amanda Waller suggested this in the first trailer, but the footage from the theatrical version of Justice League directed by Joss Whedon confirms this.

The footage includes a brief clip from the theatrical cut of Justice League, showing the Batarang of Ben Affleck’s Batman, Lois Lane holding Superman’s suit from Man of Steel, and Wonder Woman holding her shield in a scene fromBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Arthur Curry emerging from the waterfalls in the first Aquaman movie were also featured. Finally, Harley Quinn walking away after destroying Ace Chemicals in Birds of Prey ends the montage.

Dwayne Johnson has been hyping up a “new era” for the DCEU, and the actor’s remark is widely expected to pay off in the film. Rumors have suggested that Henry Cavill’s Superman could be making a return as well.

Warner Bros. also revealed the official movie poster featuring Dwayne Johnson as Teth Adam aka Black Adam.

Black Adam is in theaters on Friday, October 21.
