Fans Think the New FX of Supergirl in ‘The Flash’ Look Like a Vid Game

Share

DC Studio’s first look at The Flash during the Super Bowl last week generated huge enthusiasm from audiences but now that fans have had time to watch the trailer a gazillion times they’ve noticed some troubling signs that the movie may not be ready for primetime.

In particular a screenshot depicting Sasha Calle’s Supergirl has many fans saying it obviously looks like a green screen and that the environment looks like a 3D model or a video game using Unreal Engine.

Game Rant wrote: The Flash release date was changed multiple times throughout the production. Initially set to release in November 2022, the extra 8 months should have given Warner Bros. plenty of time to work on the VFX. However, judging by the latest trailer and TV spot, this may not have been enough. Even so, The Flash is still 4 months out from release, so the post-production team may still be able to sort out its various inconsistencies.

Between the possibility of Warner Bros. cancelling the film, various re-shoots, shifting release dates, and mental health issues surrounding Ezra Miller, as well as the film having to set up a reboot, The Flash has seen enough controversies for one film. The latest discourse surrounding the VFX is not good optics for Warner Bros. Discovery and DC studios when so much is riding on this movie.

The Flash will premiere in theaters on June 16, 2023.
