“I think it was toward the end of shooting season one of Locke & Key where I was playing a straight character. I was thinking ahead about doing press for the show and looking back also on stuff I’d done for other shows and realised that even though I wasn’t, I felt like I was lying. I still felt like I was answering things in an evasive way or editing what I say. And suddenly, I’d realise that I wasn’t saying the thing I would have said if people knew. I thought, ‘Why am I doing that? What’s the reason that I’m telling myself to do that?’ And as I thought about it, I just realised that none of the reasons that I was coming up with for why I’m going through that acrobatics was good enough for me.”

Back in 2020 he appeared on the cover.
