The UK’s star-in-waiting Cat Burns and multi-award-winning artist Sam Smith have partnered for a special, stripped-back duet of Cat’s viral single “go,” out now via Sony Music UK/RCA Records.

Arriving in time for Pride Month, Cat and Sam’s version of “go” flaunts each artist’s incredible vocal abilities, while Sam’s signature songwriting style offers a fresh perspective to the South London artist’s BRIT certified gold single. Cat and Sam recently previewed their version of “go” to fans and onlookers with a special performance at Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park.

“I came across Cat’s music earlier this year, and I was immediately moved and refreshed by her honesty, incredible technique, and delivery as a vocalist,” says Sam. “I am so thankful to be a very small part of this special song and moment. Cat is a gift to us all.”

When speaking about working with Sam, Cat says, “What an honour and pleasure it was to work with Sam! They were super lovely and added an extra level of special to the song, which is clear to hear!”

Breaking into the Official Charts in the UK for the first time in her career, “go” has become a permanent fixture in the Top 5 on the Official Singles Chart for a total of 11 weeks. The song serves as the lead single off Cat’s recently released six-track EP emotionally unavailable, which explores the complex feelings when going through the ebb and flows of mental health journeys, friendships, commitment, and abandonment issues – topics that are close to the lyricist’s heart.

Conquering the live music circuit this year, Cat recently supported Mae Muller and Years & Years on their respective tours before headlining three sold-out dates at London’s Omeara and The Deaf Institute in Manchester last month. Adding to her exciting live schedule, Cat will be supporting Ed Sheeran on his European tour run this summer.
