HISTORY lesson.
NEW STAND UP by Bo Burnham dropped on Netflix this weekend. IndieWire: How do you craft escapism when escape is no longer an option? Bo Burnham turned the camera on himself. The lanky comedian-turned-filmmaker has been delivering wry musical standup work since his teen years, but the pandemic forced him to reconsider his approach. While “Bo Burnham: Inside” has been billed as a surprise Netflix comedy special from a guy who has made a few them, it’s actually a far stranger and profound feature-length immersion into the anxieties of a year when the very idea of a “comedy special” sounded like a lost cause. The result is more Charlie than Andy Kaufman, as “Inside” becomes less about messing with the audience than plunging them into the contours of Burnham’s conflicted mind, mining brilliant and scathing observations in the process.

NEW TEEN TITANS CREATORS Marv Wolfman and George Pérez guest starred in yesterday’s episode of Teen Titans Go! on the Cartoon Network.
Wolfman and Pérez created The New Teen Titans at DC Comics in 1980. That series introduced their original creations like Cyborg, Starfire, Raven, Terra, Jericho, and Slade Wilson alongside the founding members Robin (later Nightwing), Wonder Girl, Kid-Flash, and occasionally Speedy aka Roy Harper. They also added an ex-member of the Doom Patrol Changeling aka Garfield Logan aka Beast Boy. The series was hit bestseller for nearly 20 years and all modern iterations of the heroes in other media: Cyborg in Justice League (especially Zack Snyder’s), DC’s Titans on HBO Max, the original Teen Titans on Cartoon Network, and all DC Universe Animated Original Movies stem from their creations. “Marv Wolfman and George Pérez” aired Saturday May 29 on Cartoon Network at 12PM EST and 9AM PSD.

Well, yes. But you’d have to have read the comics to know that. And the shouty people appear to have skipped that step. https://t.co/ObTfMWJCpF
